International centre of excellence within Oxford University’s Department of Psychiatry that works with partners around the world to prevent depression and enhance human potential through the therapeutic use of mindfulness. It has been at the forefront of research and development in the field of mindfulness and has extended its reach to include training and education, clinical services and engagement and advocacy, promoting the benefits of mindfulness globally.
The benefits of mindfulness in preventing serious depression and emotional distress have been proven by clinical trials and work continues to explore the implications of this, extending the approach to other disorders, using brain imaging techniques together with experimental cognitive science, to learn how mindfulness has its effects, and which practices are best for whom.

 The Linehan Institute is a non-profit corporation in Washington, US, founded by Marsha Linehan, Ph.D., ABPP, Professor of Psychology, Adjunct Professor of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences at the University of Washington and Director of the Behavioral Research and Therapy Clinics. The Institute is a consortium of research projects developing new treatments and evaluating their efficacy for severely disordered and multi-diagnostic populations.

The Langer Mindfulness Institute

The Langer Mindfulness Institute focuses on three main activities:
– Research testing the impact of mindfulness without meditation on challenging health issues including breast cancer, prostate cancer, PTSD the common cold, diabetes, and sleep;
– Workshops and Retreats teaching participants how to live boldly based on validated research, and
– Redesigning the workplace through offering “mindfulness at work” conferences and consulting services.
Institute’s organizational consulting work focuses on mindful leadership, innovation, mindful strategy processes, and work/life integration. In 2014 two Langer Research Institutes were established in China and in India.
